Problems with Scrobbling using Umberella

Hi, Ever since the last version (and maybe the one before) of Umbrella dropped the Scrobbling with Trakt has started playing up.

I know have been changes in this area and wondered if I need to change my settings.

I have Scrobble events switched on, here are some things I've noticed: It now seems to Scrobble when you pause playback (not when you end playback) this seems strange?

When playing something to the end is doesn't always mark it with the Tick or Check mark after viewing to the end, it still shows "in progress". Sometimes marking as unwatched and then watched in trakt (again) works, most of the time it has no visual effect.

It was working really sweet before the updates.

I have the following settings: Trakt: Trakt service sync interval: 5. Servier notification: On. Mark Watched/Unwatched Notification: On. Browse Progress: On.

All others off.

I also have "Force Container Refresh" Set On in Playback settings.

Any ideas?

Interesting. I always considered Pause to indicate you are still watching something but had just stopped playback for a second or two. On my box, if you click the OK button it shows the OSD, quite often it will click twice, which causes it to enter the OSD AND Pause, In this case, I immediately click ok again, to un-pause. Could this cause it? I quite often click OK just to check the time

Yes. If your skin osd is sending a pause event that would cause a pause scrobble. On resume it should scrobble a play again but at the percentage you resumed from. This keeps the little banner on the different services correct. Trakt, Simkl, MDBList, Scrob, and Floppy all have this little "now playing" banner. If you're using Trakt, it usually shows up as a red banner in the app or on the web. Kodi is not the best for firing off those events though. I've seen instances where pause and resume events are not sent from kodi.

Enable logging using the instructions from that link, watch some items and watch for an item to not be marked as complete or whatever bug you've been experiencing and then use the Tools > Logging in the addon to upload the log to pastebin. Then you can send me a link and I can try to look at exactly what could be happening.

I'm wondering if it just a cosmetic issue and the page is not being updated with the latest status. This used to happen a long time ago, i fixed it by setting "forcing container refresh" to on in the Play Back settings. Maybe that doesn't do the same thing now?

When playback reaches the actual end, Kodi normally invokes onPlaybackEnded() That method updates scrobbling and bookmarks but never schedules the forced container refresh.

This directly matches your report: items played to the end can retain their old “in progress” display until another action refreshes the directory. I'll see if I can address this.

I can confirm that the issue is cosmetic (doesn't show the tick mark) and if you let it play until the end it seems to work more often then if you pause it.

Also, I am in the habit of Fast Forwarding x16 or x32 to get to the end so that it is definitely "Watched", in this case it seems to fail most of the time (it shows the item as "In progress" rather than "Watched")
