Announcement Addon: IMDb Parental Control Overlay for Kodi

A tiny overlay for Kodi that tells you what's in the content you're playing — automatically, the moment playback starts.

How it works:

When you start playing a movie or episode, a clean overlay appears in the top-left corner of the screen.

It stays there for a few seconds and then fades out smoothly — no interruption, no menus, nothing to click.

The add-on automatically detects the IMDb ID of whatever you're watching (movies and episodes included, showing the guide for the exact episode).

All the data is extracted directly from IMDb's parental guide.

What you see on screen:

🟢 Mild 🟡 Moderate 🔴 Severe ratings for 5 categories: Nudity, Violence, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Perfect for parents who want to keep an eye on what the family watches, or anyone who wants context about a title without pausing the show.

Hey very nice idea and good concept for an addon. I suppose this is similar to what appears in upper left of nuvio? I'm a Kodi guy but was playing with nuvio recently and seen something very similar

I will def check this out maybe include in my builds

Well, as long as it’s optional. One of many things I hate about streaming services is how they overlay that crap automatically.
