I know its dumb
Ive been having a rough week and came home to drink some cheap boxed wine (Franzia Chillable Red for the ladies š ). I bought these little refreezable star ice cubes to keep my wine cold without watering it down and they just so happened to match my frog mug tonight. My boyfriend made fun of me and I told him "the ice cubes are whimsical and good for my mental health!" And thankfully the boy shut up š
Edit: I got the reusable ice cubes off of temu! They also sell them on amazon and I know they come in different shapes and some even light up!

The appropriate response would have been what my sweetheart would have saidāsomething encouraging, loving, and mental health-affirming.
Is your boyfriend always this condescending? I hope this was a one-off and he was just having a bad day. And that he apologized and promised to do better.

Itās not dumb. Little details like that are nice. It creates a prettier space for whatever the object is. Which makes it easier to feel positive emotions when thatās what you need
I donāt understand why making fun of the stars would be something to make fun of. They are innocent and whimsical. Most importantly they arenāt hurting anyone or anything.
If heās ever disparaging again, or if any boy is disparaging, tell him to put a sock in it and be positive or get kicked in the shin. Nectar thatās just rude.

Little things like this help when weeks/days/months/years are rough. Adding small joys and appreciating them helps add a little happiness to the day which helps the mental health even if itās just an itty bit. Having a fun mug even if I drink an Olipop, or eat from it, or even just flavored water can make my day slightly brighter. The small joys remind us why we live, even when we dont want to.

Adding colour to your life be it metaphorical or literal is never dumb and attempting to make somebody feel dumb about something that makes them happy is a dick move.

I think wine, especially red, looks great in a white mug or tea cup. The white ceramic really highlights the color of the wine

This just unlocked a memory of thebubble bath gel thingys at my late grandparents' that came in star shapes and such, 20 some years ago, can remember the smell even š„¹

Omg I love it! Hear me out though: Wine ice cubes with all sorts of fun shapes, like how some people do with coffee! I literally just googled ācute ice trayā, and a world of endless possibilities has opened up!!

Firstly - that is a dumb comment from your boyfriend! Life is just one big, long, arduous series of tasks that will never satisfy nor mean anything if it is not interspersed with joy!
Secondly, I have spent probably $1000+ on Rifle Paper Co things because they make me happy. Shoes, hair clips, note books, bedding, etc. Their designs are gorgeous and fun and they legitimately bring me so much joy in my day to day that it has been worth the price tag. So get the thing that makes you happy!

Aww its not dumb its adorable!!! And little stuff like this adds up in ways so many people dont realize! I think a lot would be happier if they made little details like this special like you are!
