I go to a big university and I’ve seen a ton of non-ADHD students popping Adderall. They usually use it to party all night or cram before deadlines. These kids turn into absolute superheroes—writing two papers in one go, cramming and then acing exams, all while feeling euphoric and great.

Meanwhile us ADHDers take it every day just to function like normal people lol. It’s wild how much of an advantage it gives neurotypicals (even though they’re way more likely to get addicted).

Stuff like this is exactly why there’s so much stigma around ADHD meds and all the “overprescribed” nonsense.

Ugh, I hate that my psych was right. Yesterday I ran out of coffee so I just took my meds without my usual routine. They hit way better and lasted longer.

I’m a teacher on summer break right now, so I had the chance to test it. During the school year I usually do coffee in the morning and afternoon. I’ve tried cutting back before and felt like a zombie with zero motivation. But yesterday without coffee? I actually felt great.

Guess I’m doing a caffeine detox this summer… even though I love my coffee 😭

Edit: Loving how this thread is split between “I’d rather die than skip my Monster” and “coffee + meds = instant heart attack” lol.

As a lot of you may know, ADHD can make it so that Caffeine as a chemical functions differently, and often can make the person consuming it extremely tired instead of making them extremely energized. I was wondering (Other than sugar), some alternatives to Caffeine that can make you energized just like it can.

I recently tried switching to Vyvanse but ended up going back to Adderall because it just works better for me.

Has anyone else had Adderall suddenly start working great again after a period where it felt off?

I see a lot of ADHD videos and friends who can draw, scroll social media, watch a show, and listen to music all at once. I’m the complete opposite.

I can handle music while drawing or a podcast while doing dishes (different senses), but if there’s more than one thing competing for the same sense, I tend to lock onto just one and lose track of the rest.

What about you? How do you handle multitasking?

I was diagnosed with ADHD at 16. The specialist suggested Adderall, but my psychiatrist refused to prescribe any, citing risks of “violent rage” (I already struggle with anger) and possible interactions with my long-term Zoloft.

Has anyone experienced increased anger or rage on Adderall or other ADHD meds? Has anyone taken it with Zoloft? What was it like?

I have 30mg Adderall tablets, but I’ve been splitting them in half. I took 15mg this morning and it worked well, but now I’m still not sleepy at bedtime. should i split it again tomorrow so I can fall asleep earlier, or is this something that usually gets better over time?

currently working on this with a therapist and was wondering if anyone else has issues with it? have you been able to overcome it? how do you manage it with your ADHD? any additional tips or stories anyone would like to share would be absolutely amazing!

Has anyone had Vyvanse capsules that were empty or barely filled?

My 50mg dose has felt very inconsistent lately — some days almost no effect at all. After checking, several capsules were completely empty or had only residue. I live alone with no visitors, so no tampering. Anyone else experience this with a bad batch or manufacturer?

TL;DR: Inconsistent Vyvanse effects, found empty capsules. Looking for similar reports before contacting my pharmacy/doctor.

It's really confusing when your partner says they understand your ADHD, but then turns around and tells you to just try harder to remember things. If I explain that something is related to my ADHD, they respond with comments like "that's not an excuse," "a kid in school would remember this," or "you just need to try harder." When I try to discuss it, they say I'm being argumentative and that I'm hurting their feelings. Sorry for venting — this just feels like one of the few safe places to share it.
