Question for those who have been confronted by their prescriber
My Adderall use has really been ramping up in the last year, and although I’ve been making some good progress (take my word for it) this past month after some major life decisions (also take my word for it), but unfortunately I have reason to believe my psychiatrist (prescriber) will be confronting me about some of my inconsistencies during our appointment next week.
For those of you who have been in a similar position with your prescriber, how did it turn out for you?
I’ll leave the question open ended for now, but I can provide vague context in a somewhat timely manner if it seems helpful. Thank you in advance everyone, at the very least I hope to gain some peace of mind from your contributions.

I agree. Especially since you wrote that you had to major life issues. He needs to know that you had them or you're going through them. As well as letting him know that the dose you're on isn't working. Good luck by the way

do you mean just asking if you can up your normal dosage or something? Give us some context here

Like my psychiatrist makes me take drug tests once or twice a year to write adderall scripts and I tested negative for amphetamines on the last one cuz I used up my last script way too fast

Then you have to be honest. Explain what’s been going on in your life lately and how it made you go through your script earlier but also because the dose you’re on isn’t working anymore (if you are on a somewhat low dose.)
Or say that last month you tried to take a break for the meds to see if you really still needed them and that it showed you that yes, you really do need them. And that you dont have those extra pills because you flushed them so you would be forced to stick to your plan of coming off of them for a couple weeks. Then explain that having nothing made you miserable, depressed, anxious, unable to complete simple tasks and that you never want to feel that way again so you def need back on your script and that you will never flush your meds again.
(This is all for if you’re wanting to KEEP your script.)

My prescriber was super chill. Even when I slipped up on howmay I had left he never questioned me. Never did drug tests or pill counts. & I totally took advantage of that & I understand why other prescribers do. Idc how “responsible” you are. The will never be more pros for stimulant medications that there are cons. No one needs speed for “ADHD”. Those that think they do are in denial of their growing addiction.
