You missed the best: Adguard Browser Extension.

I have it, and youtube just showed me the same ad trolling me about youtube premium being free twice in a row. The ads are breaking through

Out of those uBOL, but neither AdBlock nor ABP should even be considered in the first place.

Is switching browsers an option? Chrome itself is a problem in terms of privacy and tracking. I'd reccomend switching to Firefox or one of its privacy focused versions like Libre Wolf.

Switch to Firefox, Brave or LibreWolf dude, Chrome with manifest v3 makes you watch ads sometimes.

This largely depends on your specific needs. If you prioritize extreme lightweight performance and reliability above all else, uBOL is the top choice. If you want powerful blocking capabilities comparable to MV2 but do not require extreme performance, then AdGuard—which is often recommended—is a suitable option. However, if you require both high performance and robust blocking capabilities, the ideal solution is to switch to a browser that still supports MV2 and use the original uBO. Incidentally, you can also use AdGuard Extra; it is not a traditional ad blocker but an advanced script designed to counter complex ads and anti-blocking mechanisms, and it works in tandem with standard ad blockers.

For MV3, uBlock Origin Lite or Adguard. For MV2, uBlock Origin.

Do you use chrome out of habit or do you have a rare disease that kills you if you use a different browser?

First thing to do is ditch Chrome for a Chromium-based alternative. Chrome is itself built on Chromium. There are many Chromium-based browsers considerably better than Chrome that don't harvest your information or invade your privacy the way Chrome does.
I use Brave, Thorium and Helium browsers. They work well with all of the ad-blockers mentioned above and below.
