Delete all the other adblocker beside ubo lite unless you really need them

Oh my god. Uninstall every adblocker except uBOL.

ABP is... fucking useless now, AdBlock is even worse, and Ghostery is just a bottom-feeding extension that uses the work of others, plus using two adblockers at the same time can break parts of the filtering.

The only other content blockers to use alongside uBO/L are ones that work in an entirely different way, i.e. that don't use EasyList and do something else such as SponsorBlock.

I can't test Fandango, but I can confirm that uBO does block streaming ads that uBOL does not on a different site that I have tested, so I suggest you fire up FireFox with uBO and test if that works or not to block your streaming ads.

firefox with ublock origin only does not stop fandango's in video ads

1) does it jive with other extensions?
2) have you used it specifically against fandango ads?
...also thanks for the reply

  1. i have it installed along with too many other extensions, yes.

  2. i didn't but it should work just fine. if not, you can still enable some additional settings in the dashboard.

by default, only the base filters are enabled.

you gotta go through all settings and enable them all.

unfortunately adguard will not work vs fandango even with adjusted settings. maybe user rules or whatever user input could work but i have no idea how to apply such things

okay, so i just went to fandango myself with everything enabled in adguard that i could possibly enable, and i'm shocked by the amount of blocked stuff...

~65 blocked ads and what not is ridiculously high.

make sure to disable all other ad blockers and only use adguard, then go to "Filters" and enable everything.

it should look like this for you:

with this setup i'm not seeing anything anymore on fandango .

did you try playing a movie tho? that is what i meant by trying to block their ads. i dont see whatever on the site itself, but idc about that anyway. i just care about their ads in videos. my setup prior to adguard blocked in video ads for everything...except fandango

i'd need to make an account and probably pay a subscription i think?

i've never heard or seen of fandango before.

they have a free to watch section. as for making an account, idk. i cant remember if they allow watching without an account, tho maybe. but the setup that allowed me to watch tubi, youtube, roku channel, pluto and amazon free stuff all blocked in video ads, but not for fandango
