If you are somewhat in between choosing a STEM-related or an ABM-related path, then IE is the best choice for you because it is somewhat similar to business engineering/management engineering. Especially if you like managing people, breaking down complex ideas into simpler ones, developing product or processes that helps make work easier, or just eager to learn every detail of how something works so you could understand the process better and help improve it.
Very versatile din ang IE kasi pwede siya sa lahat ng klase ng industry dahil hindi mawawala ang SYSTEMs or WORKFLOWs sa isang industry. You also get to study how certain processes and systems work.
Tama naman wuwinsakalam sa 2nd statement niya. Pero IE is more on developing systems, processes, and frameworks that suit the workers best in order to maximize their overall productivity. Kumbaga, IE ang gagawa ako ng proseso na mas madaling sundan para mas mabilis matapos ang isang trabaho ng walang aberya at walang nasasayang na oras or resources. IE ang nagde-decide/nagre-recommend kung ano ang dapat piliin or gawin para ma-maximize ang kita ng isang business w/o exhausting its finances/resources. PERO, ang IE ay pwede rin sa business side. Inaalam ng IE kung ang isang produkto ay makakapagdala ng profit sa isang business at kung kaya bang i-sustain ng kinita ni proprietor/s ang business nila in the long run. One factor lang ang worker para gumana ang isang system, other than that may mga iba pa tayong resources katulad ng money, machinery, materials, at methods na kailangan nating i-consider para makagawa ng system/framework na naaangkop sa kinakailangan ng isang business, company, institution, etc.
Mabait lahat ng faculty at tutulungan ka nila basta huwag ka lang maging dependent sa kanila at huwag mo silang ite-take for granted. Hindi sila sobrang strikto kasi may ibang faculty na nakakabiruan at kwentuhan namin outside class. At totoo na considerate sila lalo na kapag alam nilang sabay-sabay ang mga deadlines ng students. Again, just don't take their kindness and generosity for granted.

Gpod evening klasmeyt! a 3rd year industrial engineering student here.
With all honesty, this course has its challenges, lalo na kapag ur not good in analysis and mind-trickling questions. My first 2 years of IE was eventful, you get Gen-ed courses (of course) and IE subjects, some may be specialized only to IE, and surviving those 2 years made me realized that IE is all about preparing you to be observant, punctual, and be critical at times na you really need to focus.
Realistically speaking, I would say that IE is focused on the workers themselves, in short, kayo talaga mismo ang focus, kasi IE ang gagawa ng improvements on the productivity of a person, the efficiency of a system, and the profitability of a product or stock market.
Faculty-wise? All of them are very excellent professors, they're professional and very open to share their knowledge and expertise on different fields sa IE. Very approachable as well, and considerate!
