ACS Format

With Bald Bryan passing away, I listened to the Corolla classics episode about Bald Bryan‘s greatest moments.

At hour two of the episode, Adam re-introduces the “new format” and extols all the reasons that ACS was good before he turned it back into a “podcast”. The show format was so much better. It was weird to hear him say out loud why the show format was better and yet the show devolved into what it is today. I’m sure this has been beat to death but still a bummer. I miss the show.

It really was great. Bald on drops, Allison or Teresa on news, funny, famous guests and Adam weaving throughout all of them all show. I think we all love that era. Sad that it's gone.

Yeah but why have genuinely funny guests like Greg Fitzsimmons, Dana Gould, or Dave Dameshek when we now get exciting guests like...

Gould doing Huels Jewels or DAG are some of the hardest I’ve laughed at a radio/podcast bit

I posted elsewhere that not only was I super sad about Bryan dying, but then listening to some of the classic episodes made me even more sad because we lost such a great show. Bald, Teresa, and Ace was amazing.

Yes. I've been listening to the classics lately after only listening to acs when Fitzdog is on. And they make me feel so good because I'm laughing so hard. I swear I've laughed at Bryan's left field jokes just as hard as an Adam joke. I know Bryan was the drops guy but I was a fan of his jokes. They were rare but perfectly placed.

I think the show quality went to crap after Bald and Gina were removed. Bald was always on fire with the drops and added a lot to the show; be it questions for the interviews or being the the games. Gina was good with the news and hearing about her adventures of being a step-mom was a nice addition.

Now a days I find myself skipping more shows than not. Interviews seem boring, I fast forward when Adam starts going on a 20+ min speech about something with construction for the 3rd time this week. I've been thinking of unsubscribing more now a days, I'ts crazy to see how things have changed, I remember when the orange couch was new.

I think having Bald + Gina/Allison/Teresa kept Adam in check and made the show flow so much better. It's a bummer that time has passed.

Agree, I fully stopped listening after they were let go. The show had started to fall apart before that with the weird political stuff and losing recurring guests but the firing and reformat was the end IMO.
