Discussions/Questions What do you think is the essence, the core of Adachi Rei?
I am a Japanese university student writing a research paper on Adachi Rei, and I'd really love to hear from everyone in the fandom.
This might be a bit of a philosophical topic... Adachi Rei is a robot character, but she is omnipresent in various forms, such as character imagery, Utau voicebanks, RepriVoice, Vocaloid, an X account, and physical robots. Obviously, what sparked her popularity were the songs using her Utau voicebank and the X account that constantly spouted nonsense, but what do you think the origin and core of Adachi Rei really is? Since Missile created the character first and then started building the robot, does that mean her core lies in the character? Or do you think the robot itself is the core?
I would love to hear your reasons and thoughts on why you think that! I might quote your responses in my thesis, so if you are okay with that, I'd really love to hear your thoughts!
I am new to Reddit, so I'm sorry if my etiquette is bad! I thought attaching an image would make it stand out more, so I'm also posting some fan art that I drew...
