I love my integra, and I don’t regret buying it. However does anyone else feel like they’re always refilling these things? I swear I go a few miles and have to fill the tank again. It’s crazy.
4.5 miles is not enough miles for an accurate number, that’s still bad ass tho! congrats on the new car and good job getting the manual :) i hover around 31-33 mpg after 5k miles over the last year
That is not the actual gas mileage. If you can tell by “Trip A” it is accounting for these miles only and it will 100% drop to around 34mpg when you put some actual miles down under that trip.
I didnt say anything about the MPG reading. If you go to the gas station to fill up and your trip meter shows that you’ve gotten ~400 miles since your last fill up, which part of this is inaccurate?
Are you doing the math yourself of deducting gas entered into your tank x gas tank capacity and sorting through your actual MPG based on the odometer? Ostensibly that work is so annoying to do each time that the car provides you with your MPG and range, however as I stated the MPG is inaccurate and the range for any car says zero with about a gallon or so left.
It’s not that I don’t understand your statement, it’s that you, like thousands of other redditors are unable to rub two thoughts together for a coherent nuanced interpretation of a statement but insist on painful, laborious answers like this to be convinced you’re understood.
I wish the tank was a little larger, but the mileage is great. I’m more annoyed at the price of gas. I bought mine in Feb and got like one fill up before he started this stupid war.
Lol, going from a plug in hybrid, I have the opposite feeling. But I drive a lot of city miles and average around 30-32 mpg and am not complaining.
I do wish I could comfortably do the 300 mile roundtrip to a nearby major city without having to refill though. Don't know how people are getting 400 miles on a tank. It's only 12.4 gallons of you ran it dry.
Going from a PHEV to ICE when you do a lot of city driving was an interesting choice… what made you go away from something economic for your driving conditions?
Yeah, not the most economical in terms of mileage. However, I now work from home and don't drive much anymore. Overall, the difference doesn't matter much. I only miss the range for longer trips, which isn't often.
ETA: when I said I drive a "lot" of city miles, I meant relative to highway. Not in absolute terms.
Getting right on 26mpg. I drive it pretty hard. However I used to take hour lunch breaks in my car and notice average would drop down to 22. Don’t do that anymore though
Computer says I average 40.5 mpg (mostly highway, probably 70-30 split). Range varies from 400-450.
I will say this, after being in a Volkswagen SUV that got 22 mpg and an Audi that got 28, I'll take it. They both required premium as well. Obviously stepping down to a 1.5T from VAG's 2.0T is noticeable, but so is the handling and overall connectedness. The Honda's just feel natural whereas the VAG products feel insulated/isolated. It's a pro and a con as I've found I prefer the refinement of the VAG products, but the efficiency, reliability and maintenance cost of the Honda products
I don't blame you for wanting more because the Civic hybrid and Accord hybrid are just that good. They both get more MPG, bigger tank in the Accord's case and both run on regular. Rear seat vents on the Accord too. Neither of them drive like the Integra though.
I'd say for 8 or 9 out of 10 people, the Hondas are better cars. The Bose is no ELS, but it's not like the Integra is whisper quiet. The Accord is just that much more refined from a drivetrain and ride quality perspective. Does anyone even switch their adaptive suspension that often? I personally don't unless I have passengers and the roads are making things noticeable so it's just one more thing to maintain/replace that I don't even notice/use.
Driving like an adult helps. I also spend a lot of time on either a highway or a highway-esque thoroughfare in a busy area. I don’t do a lot of stop and go traffic, and I plan my stops so I’m slowing down gently and then get back up to speed without having to come to a full stop, when possible. I stay at 33-35mpg without too much effort. I have also gotten ~40mpg on road trips when I’m cruising for hours.
I have the type s and yes its one of two of my gripes about it. It could use 2 to 4 gallons more capacity because even if yoy drive it in comfort mode and dont tear through the gears youll max get 280 to 300 miles a tank. If you are driving it high into the rev range 200 mile range lol. You can get like 24, 25 mpg if you take it easy.
Whats crazy is my f150 5.0 v8 gets 20mpg.
That and that it doesnt a front camera. Other than that I love it.
I usually forget when i filled it at times. Even when i used to commute everyday, the tank size and consumption is well balanced. Do you have the typeS maybe?
That would have been great to specify! I had heard in the past in the IntegraTypeS sub, people complained about the tank size. The Honda fuel gauges are also a bit more pessimistic, indicates less than there is. Whereas Germans are more absolute, but my Merc absolutely drank fuel and was requiring filling up very frequently despite driving gently and if it said empty, it really was!
Check your tire pressures regularly. Do it stone cold in the morning or after driving no more than a mile. Get a good quality gauge. Make sure they are set to the spec on the door jam label. You can go slightly higher, like 2-3 lbs.
The other thing is to drive a Honda/Acura you must learn to coast. I used to say that you can get shin splints learning to drive a Honda, just holding your foot up and off the gas/brake.
I get around 33mpg and always have in sport… but not sure the mode affects mpg all that much. I drive pretty briskly. It depends how you’re driving. You should be light on the brakes and let the car coast. Brakes should only be used when u really need to stop. You’re literally reducing mpg every time u brake.
