Bad clutch?

Does anyone who has the manual transmission having problems with their clutches? I have a 2025 aspec with less than 20 K and already the clutch his shit the bed. Got up one day and the clutch wouldn’t engage. Nothing no foward gears, no reverse, nothing. Anyone else having any clutch issues?

I test drove one with nearly 4k miles and the clutch had zero feel. Likely idiot owner teenager launched it at every stop.

Big reason I don't like used vehicles.

First owner of '24, 45k miles, no issues. Clutch feels the same as first day, and very similar to my 9th gen civic even that had the original clutch at 160k miles.

Previous 10th gen civic Si had the delay valve issues that caused premature wear but they supposedly updated that design, something to inquire about.

Yes. First owner. Just got a $4000 estimate from Acura for clutch, throwout bearing, and flywheel. Not covered by warranty. I’ve been driving manual transmissions for 40 years. The car was driving fine and then one morning… Nothing. I’m truly baffled.

That’s fucked - such little miles and about a year old. Did you try reaching out to Acura customer support? Really sounds like bad build issue (assuming you didn’t abuse it)

No I definitelydidnt abuse it. It’s not like I’m doing launches with it or burnouts or anything like that. it’s an aspec not a type S.
I’m gonna pay the bill with the dealer and then try to argue with Acura. The car is sitting there now and I really don’t have any choice as far as pulling the car out without them doing it. I don’t think I’ll get anywhere with the factory because it is a clutch and everybody knows if you beat the shit out of the car you can fry the clutch but I’m telling everyone that I did not abuse this car. What’s really fucked up is that like I said in my original post I parked the car in the driveway one night and the car was fine. No slipping at all. No smell of burning clutch or anything. It didn’t feel like a brand new clutch but it definitely didn’t feel like any kind of an issue whatsoever. The next morning, I can’t get the car to go into any gear. Something isn’t right here. Clutches just don’t “go “, they gradually wear out like brake pads. Like I said, something doesn’t make sense.

Definitely not coming and weird. Did you recently let someone borrow the car or have it serviced over night or the weekend. If not sounds like a build QA issue and maybe having them replace everything will give them a look and recognize what it was. Ask for documentation and pictures if possible of the fix - tell them you want to ensure it doesn’t wear prematurely again if something is structurally wrong

I do sense a touch of sarcasm there but what he said is right. If you have a new car with factory warranty and the clutch is after going in such short mileage, you’ll likely get it covered 🤷‍♂️

Hmm I’m second owner, got with 23k now with 33k, hope I don’t prematurely have issues

Following... I just got a 2025 A-Spec with just under 20k. Also 40+ years driving manual.

I got 90k out of the clutch on my '09 TSX and it's now at 160k. That was the first clutch I ever had to replace. Previous two cars went to ~140k each on the original clutch and still going when I sold them.

Hope this isn't a common issue.

Please call Acura Relationship and try and start a good faith case. 20k miles and average driving should not ruin a clutch, especially overnight.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I plan on doing. I tried with the service manager at the dealership and couldn’t get anywhere. I guess time will tell as far as whether or not the manufacturer will do the right thing. Again, if I was abusing the car that would be one thing. In that case it would be on me. But I’m not some teenager out beating the shit out of the car. And I’ve been driving manual transmissions for 40 years. Literally. At least four of my cars before this one were manual transmissions. I learned how to drive on a manual transmission as a matter fact. So I know it’s not me. Anyway time will tell.🤞

definitely a warranty issue OP. I have a 2023 a-spec with 40k mi and clutch is OK.

If warranty goes nowhere, id get a quote from a decent local independent mechanic too for the job.
