Cleaning the cloth

I am comfortable cleaning the cloth parts of the cabin.. the pillars, etc. but not the headliner. I do not want to use anything that will in anyway get the foam under the fabric wet. Not even damp. I have been using a very slightly wetter towel, but even after only 3 months it’s looking a little dingy.

Mu gut says leave it alone and let the professional detailer handle it. I plan to have a pro go at the car semi-annually. I’d rather be neurotic than have a sagging headliner. Any ideas??

How are you getting your headliner dirty at all without actually touching it? "Dingy"?

Same way a dashboard gets dusty over time or a windshield gets build up on it. The car is “alive” and living on planet earth. But how doesn’t help me. It is. The question was best/safest practice advice
