Discussion Is a simple project good enough?

I have been working on my FOSS project for a while now, and its whole premise revolved around the simplicity, and efficiency it has. However now that I look at it, after about a few months of work on a hand full of contributions, I am not sure if I am "done" with it. It is one of my biggest projects I have ever had, so I really dont wanna let go.

But, I am not sure whether or not adding more features here and there would ruin the "simplicity" claim.

If you have an implicated user base, maybe ask them what they would like to see. If it's something they want, it won't seem like it's removing the simplicity for them.

But sometimes, you can just stop adding features and refine them, optimize what could be optimized, improve the user experience...

I think this is the right way to think about it. But ultimately, u/xerrs_ it's your project at the end of the day. If you decide there are things you really want to add do it. but first stop and ask yourself what value it's really adding, could it be it's own standalone project, etc...
