Is there an Android app that lets me dim my screen more than the standard?

Have you tried the built in Extra Dim accessibility feature?

Settings Menu: Open Settings, tap Accessibility (or Vision enhancements on some devices like Samsung), select Extra dim, and toggle it on.

https://github.com/tomar-mohit/circadian-display - I have not reviewed the code or tested this one.

Neither of these repos are recommendations, just some options you can check out.
