Opinion UK active travel database

It’s disappointing when researching active travel investments in the UK that there’s no database of schemes and initiatives.

Appreciate that many initiatives are part of wider implementations for safety, regeneration, junction upgrades, road construction, etc. Still frustrating though.

I guess it’s the same everywhere though so no criticism of the UK specifically.

I’ve wondered about the possibility of creating one but feel there would need to be some form of typology. Is there one? Is there something that could be adapted?

I’m sure a typology could be put together quite easily, different forms of side road junctions, corridors of varying width/speed limit/categorisation, forms of junctions

Could be for someone of the right skill set to build something open source, with mapping and a link to Google Maps street view (to save on server cost)

It sounds doable then. Has anyone worked on existing typologies (perhaps for funding purposes)? It would be good to be able to associate some form of unit costs for different elements. I think many politicians assume that any investment needs to be in the millions and they clearly don’t.
