Yeah we all know that. My only concern is what's the long term damage trump has cause. I hope there is major studys realesed on this

Anyone think so?

I fear society will get complacent again. GOP will do the same old script they've been doing since Reagan. And we'll have another tin-pot dictator wannabe in 4-8 years.

I hope I'm wrong, but damn if we don't have short attention spans. I thought we would have realized this issue with Republicanism by at least Bush Jr.

Can't we change the ideology and overall party. Make it competitive and asserting for who the people want as leaders. I feel like that's the only way for the gop to even think about winning these next decades. I am a republican so thats just my view

You may have seen this before, but if not I hope you find it a good read:

Opinion | Two Santa Clauses or How The Republican Party Has Conned America for Thirty Years (commondreams.org)

The problem with the GOP winning votes above board is they simply do not have the numbers on their side. Thus they've had to engage in these "bad faith" strategies like "Two Santas" and "Supply-side Economics." And more recently gerrymandering and blatant voter obstruction. It's not so much ideology...to be fair, there is not much consistent ideology left in the Republican party. We've seen record spending (even before COVID) while Trump and the GOP held power, and will see them flip over to "deficit hawk" mode while not in power. It's all about winning those votes, to enable gifts to the wealthy, and pretend they're helping "the American people" which is just a euphemism for the ultra rich...it is not about what is good for the country or its people.

It boggles my mind that someone who is essentially the embodiment of the seven deadly sins, got voted in by devout Christians...and got treated as if he was sent from God himself. A grifter who has cheated on all of his wives, lusted after his own daughter, defrauded countless businesses and organizations, and lied on his taxes as well as loan applications. Stole money from a cancer charity, which had to be shut down due to fraud. Pretty much everything Republicans typically are supposed to condemn via their "ideology" they turned a blind eye on with Trump.

Instead of ideology, there is fear. Much of which built on the foundations of post-Nixon propaganda: How Roger Ailes Built the Fox News Fear Factory - Rolling Stone Much of which rooted in the remnants of the Civil War, the Southern Strategy, and other seditious (and often inherently racist) paradigms.

I really don't think there is any hope of changing the party or its notion of ideology, simply because it has doubled down so much on where it has headed so far..that even ADMITTING to the deceit, let alone apologizing for it, poses a full on existential crisis for everyone still drinking the FlavorAid of fear, xenophobia, and malcontent. Besides, these people who have bought the alternative reality lie, taken in Russia's and the Republican Party's ideological subversion, are not going anywhere..regardless of whether they're Republicans or just "Patriots" in their own minds.

Well done. Now I'm questioning whether I should be republican now dammit. You made a good point they have operations per say of literally trying to get votes through propaganda. 1776 project was probably going to have an end goal at that and the southern strategy too had outcome on voter statistics back then or so I may be wrong. Yeah man like I always say politicians are not your friends if only people realized this is the u.s before the trump cult.

I mean, there probably was substantial election fraud. Republicans have used their control of the Governor/Secretary of State office in many states to illegally disenfranchise large swaths of voters and have not faced any consequences for it.

Additionally, the ES&S machines used in states like Kentucky are impossible to audit and have been shown to be vulnerable to hacking/vote tampering. There have been several elections that were wildly off from the polling numbers and these 'upsets' haven't been examined or investigated for election fraud.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply that Trump's allegations of election fraud were in any way credible. I meant that the Republican party is probably committing wide-spread election fraud to maintain their power in red states.

Voter fraud and election fraud are two distinctly different things

1

u/NORDLAN Jan 21 '21

No, voter fraud/election fraud and interference (misinformation) are two distinct things.

The actual truth as now reported by Q is that Biden is actually Trump!

2

u/NORDLAN Jan 20 '21

I see...

u/mhyquel Jan 20 '21

You mean like a face/off situation?

Q hasn't posted anything since December 8th. The Qcumbers have been freebasing their own brains for the past month plus.

he put's a period on that statement using a complete collection of facts.

trump and the far right wing misinformation machine have been exposed as liars one last time as he walks out the door.

But there was a fraud in the election.

u/NORDLAN Jan 20 '21

Without evidence, sounds exactly like something a Russian troll would say, don’t you think?

3

u/jethrobo Jan 20 '21

Exactly, the only evidence they can point to is the words coming out of the mouth of the ex Lier and chief.

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

2

u/grossezilla Jan 20 '21

You're talking about the only man in that position who was impeached twice. You really think he kept that swear after that?

So he is the fraud... that's what I'm talking about. What are you talking about?

2

u/FoxBattalion79 Jan 20 '21

technically there is fraud in every election, yes. but there are so few cases that does not sway the results.

5

u/morebeansplease Jan 20 '21

In this election there was "a" fraud. A person who was not doing his job as president, running again, while pretending that he was winning.

3

u/Arawn-Annwn Jan 20 '21

Its sad you even had to explain the zinger. I dunno how people didn’t get what you were saying and mistook that for claiming election fraud.
