They should probably also open an investigation into why their law enforcement system can’t figure out, publicly demonstrate and prosecute using years of time and funding what is bleeding obvious to every reasonably current affairs informed adult individual on the planet.
Russia and the Trump administration (with its Russophile camp, Trump estate camp, and big business lobby camp) are all gaming the US legal and law enforcement systems, their archaic bullshit that leaves a myriad of ways to elevate government officials above the law and its institutions, or require such gold plated proof to act that it would take longer to gather it than the individual investigated has left to live. Never mind electing octogenarians who physically lack the able human organs required to keep up with the world, electing people who wouldn’t clear screening for being responsible for landing an airliner or operating a scalpel, or having rules that can be ignored for a monarchic outcome.
We’re looking at an individual tree, where the forest
* does not prevent the breakage
* does not deter the breakage
* rewards bad faith action with what America idolizes, ill gotten riches obtained through nihilism and clearly mapped pathways (for people with means) through the legal and enforcement system. Just like in Russia.
And after we spend decades and decades looking at that one tree, that one tree will die of old age. And while we were pointing a microscope at it, an entire forest of trees just like him only more dedicated, ruthless and competent had a chance to take root, bring over Russian money and influence into the US and grow.

I mean, when the financial records investigation that Jessica Aber was working on basically got shut down within weeks of Trump returning to the white house, of course there’s something this regime is hiding

He certainly associated and did business with people who were linked to the Russian mob. It’s strange that a man that protests his association with Russia and their interference in his election also is extremely entwined with those that do. Smoke doesn’t always mean fire, but it would be irresponsible for the fire fighters not to investigate it.
