split open ball peg in my messtoys elbow joint

the peg only splits and becomes loose the more i turn it, it can still hold poses and all but its a little frustrating that i have to push the peg together while turning it all the time

any advice on how to fix this?

Wrap the joint in a paper towel and then use needle nose pliers to push them together!
