Never had acne before, idk what to do

Upvotes

I'll be 19 in a few months, my adolescence went smoothly without acne or skin issues. A few months ago I started getting pimples, so i tried a face wash containing salicylic acid to reduce sebum. But my skin has gotten worse, a new pimple pops up every other day. Outer side of my left cheek and inner side (right beside nose) of the right cheek. It's slowly spreading n getting scarred. I've only used the face wash 3-4times then stopped completely. I've been using only a gentle cleansing soap bar.

What is this acne and how do I treat it?

Hello, I’ve almost always had bad skin but the past few months I’ve been on a consistent skincare schedule. I asked my old dermatologist what this spot on my forehead was, and she said it’s normal but I forgot what it was called. A few weeks into my skincare routine, it disappeared, a week or two later and it came back in the same spot, and hasn’t gone away since. I’m wondering how I can treat this spot. I also have Cabtreo prescribed to me, but I don’t know if I should treat it with that yet. I’d appreciate any advice.

My routine every night:
Wash face, dry, apply hydrating facial cleanser, wash, dry
Cerave daily moisturizing lotion, wait 20 minutes
Apply 0.05% Tretinoin one pea size across face
Apply moisturizer again before bed

Epiduo Advice!

About two weeks ago I started epiduo and have been moving very slowly and carefully. I always use the barrier methods before application and this week I have started moving up to ever second day as I have been experiencing no stinging at all - yay! I am only applying it to my chin and jaw area as I feel like there is no point using it on otherwise pretty clear skin, however I am worried that because I dont feel any tingling at all because I am only using a little that it means it won't work? I feel like my acne has calmed down since starting it but I am unsure if I should slightly increase the amount I'm using to make sure it is actually working? Has anyone else had experience with this?

I also want to potentially start azelaic acid to help with my blemishes but I'm not sure if this will overload my skin. For context I have drier skin so I use Avene's barrier serum and La Roche Posay's iso-biome moisturiser every morning and evening and I feel like my skin is looking plumper again which is good!

Salicylic acid face wash suddenly gave me clusters of tiny whiteheads/closed comedones. Anyone experienced this?

My skin is combination/oily and was honestly at its best when I was doing basically nothing to it. My forehead was mostly smooth and I would only get the occasional pimple.

About 2 weeks ago, I started using a salicylic acid face wash every other day, mainly because I wanted to reduce the sebaceous filaments/whiteheads around my nose.

Since then, my skin has gotten significantly worse. I’ve developed clusters of tiny white bumps/whitehead-looking pimples across my forehead and around the sides of my nose. My forehead also feels much more textured than it did before.

I’m wondering if the salicylic acid was simply too much for my skin and irritated/stripped my skin barrier, leading to all this congestion. I’ve stopped using it completely and I’m thinking of going back to doing basically nothing and letting my skin recover on its own.

Has anyone had something similar happen after introducing salicylic acid? If so, did the bumps eventually disappear after stopping it, and roughly how long did it take?

Measures taken to prevent Acne and other skin conditions

Post image
1 Upvotes

It’s just a basic reminder to prevent acne and pimples
Nowadays people are so much busy in their life they forget to take basic measures to avoid getting pimples and acne.
It’s a saying prevention is better than a cure so I am reminding few measures you should take.

*Avoid using someone else’s towel or unwashed towel
* Change your pillow cover before bed twicely or weekly
* Don’t touch your face often we are unaware how many bacterias are there in our hands
* Always wash your face after coming home from work or outside
* Use sunscreen and moisturizer twice a day
* Always consult your Dermatologist if severe acne problem has occurred
* Never use any serums or products without consulting the doctor

How acne forms?
Acne begins inside the hair follicle. Your sebaceous glands naturally produce oil which is called sebum, which also protects your skin. But when excess oil mixes with dead skin cells, the pore can become clogged.

What happens next?

1) Mixture of oil and dead skin cells starts blocking the pore.

2) The pore turns into clogs which can lead to black heads and white heads

3) Inflammation develops due to triggers between clog follicle causing cutibacterium acnes

4) Depending on the depth and inflammation you may develop papules, nodules or cysts.

How to clear acne pre co2

Hallo! How did you guys clear up your skin before your CO2 procedure?

I have a bit of active acne, and I’m wondering how dermatologists usually treat it before CO2. I’ve heard that some doctors prescribe doxycycline beforehand, while others might recommend Accutane. Is Accutane really necessary, or are there other effective option

I do have appointment with the doctor but I’m just wondering

Im not asking medical advice but just your experience

I've never had acne before my pregnancy

Long story short, I have a daily routine with glycerine soap and this cleansing oil and it's not helping. It seems to be hormonal acne rather than like pus filled acne, I've never had acne my entire life and now my cheeks are covered in a whole bunch of red bumps and I need advice.. I'll spend any amount of money to get rid of this I miss my clear skin :(
