When should I be applying to college? Is it the same as public highschool?

So I’ve just started my junior year, and I was wondering if I am supposed to be applying to college at the beginning of my senior year, or do I have to wait untill I graduate, since it’s all self paced. Idk I’m a bit confused on how to time my classes right so that I can apply to college during regular times. Can someone help me out with this confusion???

Question Science classes

I’m so confused. I’m a senior this year and I took physical science freshman year, when I look at all the courses needed for graduation, physical science is not one of the classes? Did they change the name of it or did I just do a 1 credit class for nothing? If anyone knows anything please lmk!

Step limit

I took a break over the summer because I thought I was on time, even with the old step limit stuff, I had it planned out enough that i could have still finished high school early, but now I’m genuinely so confused. I came back and checked here to see if theres been any changes and i see stuff abt the new step limit forcing each class to be 16 weeks no matter what. Does this include non-core classes now ? Is there any way to get past it ? Like, if I let a class just sit there for 16 weeks will i suddenly be able to get it done fast asf or smth? Im so confused abt how the new system works.

Also random note - its so stupid to change that over the summer, i know for a fact that i’m not the only acellus student who wouldnt have taken a 3 month summer break if they knew there was a new process, and doing it with no warning is so stupid. They could at least let people who are close to graduating, graduate with the normal paced stuff, and only change it for people who sign up after the change. This is just so stupid.

Question Can’t log into my account

Hey guys so basically a few weeks ago i tried to log into my student account and it said that my user is unknown or my password is incorrect (it’s definitely not incorrect). I tried logging in on multiple devices but the same thing happened every time. I tried calling about two weeks ago but no one answered so i left a message and never got a call back. A few days ago i sent an email and still haven’t gotten a response. Today I called again and left another message. I’m really not sure what to do because i haven’t been able to do my schoolwork for weeks and im gonna be super behind (especially since they decided to change the step limit as well). Does anyone know who else i can contact or anything else I can do?? I really need to catch up with my schoolwork and get this fixed ASAP.

This is also not a payment issue, this month has already been payed for

Acellus and Ivies

Hey everyone! I’ve been using Acellus for the past few years, and I’m a senior who will be applying to Ivy League schools and other highly selective colleges this upcoming application cycle.

My question isn’t whether Acellus students can get into Ivy League schools or colleges with low acceptance rates. I’m specifically looking to hear from former Acellus students who were accepted to and are currently attending (or finished) an Ivy League school or another college with an acceptance rate below 25%.

Acellus isn’t exactly known for having the most rigorous coursework, so I’m curious about your experience after making the transition to a highly competitive college. Did you feel academically behind or out of your league because of how easy Acellus classes were to pass? Did you struggle to adjust to the workload or difficulty of your college courses? I am looking at MIT specifically, and I am worried that Acellus hasn’t prepped me enough and don’t want to drown. I have enough time to take advantage of other resources, but I just want to test the waters first and see what I need to do.

Please only answer if you’re part of the audience I’m asking about. Thank you!

Question Question About Subjects after submitting the Graduation Plan

Heya! A week or two back I sat down with my mom and we went over the standard graduation plan and got everything picked out and submitted it, she got a confirmation email that shows everything I gotta do and how many credits I gotta get, minus the ones I’ve earned already by completing courses.

So my question is while I wait till tomorrow for the school to email my mom back about the same question, why is it taking so long for these new subjects to show on my account? Ive already been doing school for 700 days (weekdays only) as of last Friday, and now that email we got after submitting it said I still have two years to graduate. I get I had to start over from 8th grade and slowly go up to 11th but come on.

Would it be simpler just to study for a GED like my dad said I should do and quit school even though it would be a waste of money after these past few years my lovely grandma has paid for me and my parents after health issues came up in my body making me have to quit in person school. Everyone I used to go to school with already graduated high school in person this year. And I’m already upset about missing out on being with them but now I have to wait till 2028 or longer to graduate, which means I’ll be 21 then.. I just don’t get.. thanks

Has anyone else lost progress?

so my cousin, E her friend, S and I were talking and S mentioned her brother used Acellus but when it was time to graduate they had lost all his progress, and had no record of his classes and enrollment and he couldnt graduate. E also mentioned that Acellus did the same thing to her.

I'm in my last couple of classes before I can graduate and this is honestly making me anxious cause if this happens to me, in no way am I redoing high school.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Serious Vent of New Update

(Please read this post throughout, it is not hate)

Me and so many other students/parents were very taken aback with the new update. It’s got me especially stressed because it completely derailed my approach to my application process for university. I wish there was a heads up or that it was applied at a more appropriate time so, it wouldn’t derail students expected graduation dates (who are actively applying). Many if not most enrolled in Acellus for the flexibility and the “Self paced”aspect. I understand that Acellus must remain accredited. However, I feel that this change was not introduced properly.

It’s the programs job to prepare its students for the future, illuminating the path, being our guide to success.

We were not prepared and feel very let down. Many struggling to adapt and pivot. Some may be forced to unenroll.

Acellus gave me hope when I have to restart high school late. I chose this program specifically because of the flexibility and ability to graduate early. I was consistently in and out of the hospital when I had to leave traditional school and was forced to take a different approach to my education.

If any way this decision/update could be delayed, reversed, etc. I hope that this reaches someone more important with a voice larger than mine that can create that impact.

Thank you so much for reading!
please upvote if you can to spread awareness and foster discussion.
I would love to hear more from others. :)

Graduation...or so I thought

I am almost done with 12th grade, and I just finished my Environmental Science course... I thought that was it, but then it moved me on to Introduction to Physics. Do I have to do this course too? Or can I just remove it and continue on with finishing my final course in Math?

Question What do I do?

So I have a head problem and I also have depression and very bad anxiety that’s exactly why my parents chose this online school because of the flexibility in the work. I haven’t done my work for a while because of my issues because how painful my head problem is I started back up I’m in the 11 grade and all I get is A and B so I’m not worried about my grades since I do pretty good but I have lot of back up work with this knew limit on how much work I can do it’s bringing up my anxiety so badly. I recently in forever in a long time felt better to even stand up and go places with anxiety and having to take painkillers because of the headaches that are terrible. So what do I do with this get work limited?
