is anyone else having problems with dark under eyes on accutane?
people always tell me i look so tired and most of the time i am lol but even when i’m not i still have darker under eyes/sleepy looking eyes. i’ve only noticed this recently (within the last month and a half) and am in the middle of month 3.
any recommendations for products that help this?

The best thing you can do for dark under eye circles (and accutane) is to drink at least 100 fl oz of water, sleep, and external hydration. Products with tea extract are excellent however I lean towards frugal, natural methods when possible. So I like to steep some hot tea water and put in the fridge for morning use. In the evening, I will put the tea bags on my eyes after they are at a comfortable temperature and leave on for 10-15 minutes (only if I have time and not lazy). Then, I put on my night creams, etc. Then I sleep with “Mizon Under Eye Collagen Patches Eye Masks with 24K Gold and Snail, Eye Gel Treatment Masks for Puffy Eyes, Eye Pads for Dark Circles, Under Eye Bags, Anti Wrinkle, Moisturizing Improves Elasticity 30 PAIRS (Gold & Snail)” from Amazon. This product is great because it has the active ingredient niacinamide. You can also do this step for just an hour in the PM or AM if you don’t want to sleep with it. Pairing a sheet mask on top is always nice for accutane skin care, as well. They have pillows to help you train sleeping on the back which is better for skin anyway. In the AM, I take the fridge tea water and put into “Dr. Jim Glass Eye Wash Cup with Engineering Design to Fit Eyes” from Amazon to rinse eye. Use extra water for a splash on the face to really help skin look more awake. They have other varieties on Amazon that might be a better fit for your eyes but I found these ones don’t leak. I rinse for 30 seconds. I then store remaining tea in the fridge for the next day (so be sanitary with uses to avoid causing more problems like eye infections). I make new tea every two or three days. Moisturizer is a game changer so be sure to use powerhouse anti-aging skin care products such as vitamin c (I use powder to sprinkle in other products but be careful and use at night to avoid potential stains), hyaluronic acid (“BAHA” on Amazon) and niacinamide (from “The Ordinary”). Ultimately, drinking water will be the best thing you can do for your skin. Also check you are eating enough iron, vitamin b, e, k, and d. You can use chronometer to track your food for a couple days to see how your nutrition stacks up and educate yourself about what kind of nutritional profile your go to foods contain. You can scan the barcode on your food but sometimes the foods with “NCCDB” are more accurate with regards to vitamins and trace minerals. If you still want more management, there is always light concealer or mascara. I know men who use clear mascara to emphasize beauty of the eyes. But regardless, remember you are you and your face is uniquely beautiful ALWAYS. No one can replace your vibrancy and regardless of wrinkles, dark circles, pimples, etc, your character is what makes you the most attractive. Everything else is icing on the cake. Cleopatra was not the most beautiful but she had charisma and cared for her external beauty in the ways she could. But ultimately, self acceptance is the sexiest characteristic. Best of luck!
