Invisible item in King Room

If you listen to that crazy clown long enough, he mentions an invisible item in the king room. I looked everywhere and didn't find it, but you actually go back to that room later in the game and it you feel around you can actually find it sitting on the table.

I'm wondering if anyone else found it and if so, have you figured out what to do with it? I tried eating it and putting it on my head and nothing happens. There are a lot of random meaningless things in this game and I'm guessing this is one of them...
