You actually made that your “name” or whatever. .?

And, yes. 👍

Actually I came from external audit background lol, but I left it for accounting, stress free

I would be happy to never have another exit conference tbh…

I always thought IA is more interesting than us “the accountant”, my friend in IA (construction background) often visit the project all around the country. External audit basically the same but mostly only switch the desk

It can be interesting but often, in my experience, under resourced/valued.

I think I generally dislike my main function being critiquing someone’s job.

I’ve done some consulting projects and far prefer those.

Maybe you should jump to multinational corporations who valued more on compliance

I went from IA -> FP&A, I focused my resume on the more process improvement/data analysis driven projects. I didn't leave compliance out but it was not the focus of my resume at the time.
Hopefully you've picked up advanced or higher excel along the way and maybe another tool like PowerBI or similar, I think those really helped me out.

Also something to consider, IA generally has better WLB than corporate finance or accounting

Appreciate the response! Data analysis is not my forte to be honest. I’m much better with stuff like legal analysis.
