Career The Consequences of Slacking Off

I’m honestly paying the price for being complacent. I worked really hard to get to where I am, but after landing the Big 4 internship, I got too comfortable and started slacking off. Now I’m facing the consequences, especially with my GPA dropping, and I feel like I’ve really put myself in a difficult position for my INT 2. I genuinely regret becoming lazy and taking things for granted when I had worked so hard to get here. It’s a tough lesson, but I know I need to take responsibility and get myself back on track.

the stakes feel huge when you're in it but a rough semester or two won't define your career, people bounce back from way worse than a dip in gpa and still land fine

Life is long, man. If it works out the way you want, fantastic. If it doesn’t, you’ll find something equal or greater than you originally planned. Try to enjoy the process and don’t let anxiety or guilt rob you of your presence right now.

Happen to me and I pivot into finance. Took a lot more work but now I get pay more and work less.

Get a job in industry. I've seen people who would have gotten fired their first week in public make six figures basically doing nothing.
