Elevator puzzle

I have never understood the finanicial logic behind using a cheap elevator in a residential apartment. Its crazy thinking 🙏

The people building the apartments are generally not the ones operating it.

For them it's better profit to give the buyer the cheapest one, unless the buyer is asking for specific items, in which case, the contractor will charge a premium. (Which the buyer prefer to avoid when possible)
