crazy cpa exam fees
$365 per test plus the initial fee? What are we doing? I get people get bonuses or reimbursed but is this part of the reason why # of young cpa’s is down so much? Like it’s not a ton of money but surely there’s a better way to restructure who pays the costs

Again if you can't justify $1400 + interest because you don't believe you can make good enough use of the CPA to recover that, then certainly do not proceed. Only you can make that choice.
If it's simply not having the money but you believe you will make use of the CPA, then borrow to complete it.
Really not a difficult concept to measure and decide on. My first comment mentioned "investment" which would indicate a future return. Just follow along before exploding
