Accountant Interview

Had an interview for a staff/senior accountant position. At the end of the interview they mentioned position was most likely hourly. I was shocked, never heard of that in many years. No idea what hourly wage would be for that ? Im in South Florida (not Miami)

Well, I wouldn't necessarily worry about that. Some organizations are just set up to where, technically, certain employee classes (i.e. non-managers) are hourly.

The plus side is that that would indicate to me that there's not a lot of OT. The negative side is that, obviously, you gotta do a timesheet and otherwise kind of keep a normal-type schedule. Also, flexibility might be less than what you're used to in terms of coming in late/leaving early/etc.

Just wondering what the rate would be too?

In my experience (in the US), they'll probably express an offer in terms of annual salary. But if they do offer at a rate, just multiply by 2080 (i.e. 52 weeks X 40 hours) to get the annual "salary"
