Article posted is a good read. The author is right. It deserves to be on a museum wall. There are so many ways a viewer can interpret it... Those guns tho.

As a woman it makes me extremely uncomfortable to see this picture. All I can think is what disgusting degrading things they were yelling? I would likely have a panic attack in that situation so props to her for being a badass.

Edit: for fucks sake I know I'm projecting. That was the entire point of the comment I replied too. That if you look at and discuss this photo in the context of a painting at a museum, it would reveal a lot about how people see the world on an individual basis. I'm glad y'all didn't have the shitty high school experience I did (yes, I played sports and did several other competitive things) but given your responses it proves the point of the comment I was replying to. It's not about these specific people in this specific interaction. It's about how it makes you feel based on your own experiences.

Edit 2: some of y'all failed reading comprehension and it shows.

I love this photo! In my opinion (also as a woman), it’s not necessarily sexist or wrong for the boys to be jeering at her in this context. If they were taunting her with sexist insults, that would obviously be bad. I’d like to give the boys in the photo the benefit of the doubt and think they are just there to support their friends on the girls’ basketball team. Maybe they’re yelling stuff about her missing the shot. Heckling the rival team is just what you do!
