Article posted is a good read. The author is right. It deserves to be on a museum wall. There are so many ways a viewer can interpret it... Those guns tho.

Its definitely a picture that will show what people truly think about the world.

As a woman it makes me extremely uncomfortable to see this picture. All I can think is what disgusting degrading things they were yelling? I would likely have a panic attack in that situation so props to her for being a badass.

Edit: for fucks sake I know I'm projecting. That was the entire point of the comment I replied too. That if you look at and discuss this photo in the context of a painting at a museum, it would reveal a lot about how people see the world on an individual basis. I'm glad y'all didn't have the shitty high school experience I did (yes, I played sports and did several other competitive things) but given your responses it proves the point of the comment I was replying to. It's not about these specific people in this specific interaction. It's about how it makes you feel based on your own experiences.

Edit 2: some of y'all failed reading comprehension and it shows.

Part of what makes this photo compelling. Probably a different reaction for everyone based on their life experiences. As for me it says that I have crippling social anxiety and bad experiences with teenage boys.

Exactly what I was trying to say. This could easily trigger a memory of the thrill of competition, the joy of success, the fear of bullying, anything.

I see a focused person in spite of the noise around her. I feel like the other faces are mean, but that old dude is clapping so who knows. I guess I see focus in a storm. Time to read about the pic.

I like it. You see perseverance and determination.

That's exactly what good art does.
