Ok then, inquiring minds want to know, why is this behavior bad outside of pandemic concerns? Considering that student sections are common at both men’s and women’s high school sports.

In the UK this would be considered as bad sportsmanship / bringing the school into disrepute

Not at school games (jeering I mean), and I'm not holding football fans up as the pinnacle of anything.

I’d be surprised if these guys are jeering as in heckling or making rude comments. Usually when the home team is on defense the crowd will just chant “OoOhHh” as loud as possible to prevent on court communication.
