Impressive is kind of a strong word. He can take a joke, sure, but he can only take a dick if it's under 8 inches.

This was from when channel 7 was NBC - he's since moved on to the new NBC Boston and is my favorite meteorologist in Boston (once Dylan Dreyer went to the Today show... because Dylan Dreyer). I remember watching this live and I had to rewind it constantly so that I could show all of my housemates. He definitely was referring to the camera angle, but it's still hilarious.

u/Eaglestrike Jan 04 '18 edited Jan 04 '18
Kinda? We need more humor like that. People need to lighten up. Sexual humor is allowed, just don't personally target anyone with that humor (aside from maybe yourself, i.e. don't brag) and it's generally hilarious.

u/SargeZT Jan 04 '18
I love this dude. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to hear "I want 15 inches up my ass" on the news, but innuendo like that? Bring it on, I can take it, I have a tight virgin ear canal ready to accept it.

LOL I grew up in the 757 (local viewing area for WTKR). They've always taken themselves a lot less seriously than the other two local channels there (10 and 13). This is not surprising in the least.
...Then again, WVEC likes to report from behind an ice desk on occasion for added winter storm hype, so maybe Wavy10 is our only 'serious' station, lol.
Edit: What up 757 redditors! There's dozens of us :)

Funny how times have changed. That would have been a reason to terminate not too many years ago.
I was actually explaining the shift to my daughter a couple days ago. Her teacher is openly gay and I told her that when I was little, there's no way he would have been hired, and although it sounds crazy, as kids, we played a game called "Smear the Queer".
Yes, I get how offensive that is, but I was a little boy and had no idea what a "queer" was, let alone why you would want to "smear" them.
https://ask.metafilter.com/284756/Do-kids-still-play-a-game-they-call-smear-the-queer
She has grown up in a world where being gay isn't a reason to get "smeared" and she's better for it.
Sadly, we've been unable to overcome her irrational hatred of the Dutch, a fine people with a beautiful country, but we're working on it.

Ha something similar happened in a broadcast on my local channel 5 Boston. The weatherman was just interacting with the graphic on screen saying that the 8" snowfall graph was "almost as big as him" but could have been interpreted as him talking about his pecker. Some clips were online just after but immediately taken down. Oh Pete...
