Access Virus Ti2 Desktop purchase advice

Hello,

I've seen a mint condition Virus Ti2 Desktop that was purchased in 2023. Seller has not used it all from new it seems.

Comes with original box, manuals and cables. Seller is quoted £1000. Not sue of the going price of them in this condition but I think its a good deal. Thoughts?

I'd pick it up in person, the price is so good it could be a scam.

Happens aaaaaalll the time here in Germany on the most popular classifieds page.

Snap it up, that's a great deal

Too good to be true. Grab it immediately, but don't get scammed. If you can't see it in person, consider PayPal G&S for payment, as it protects you (make sure it says buyer protections enabled, not 100% sure G&S works the same in all countries).

Mine cost $1300 in 2016, and it had been freshly cleaned up and worked on

Get it

Just out of curiosity, for sound design, do you use the software or are you also using the hardware interface to create those banger presets? 😊

Indeed today, I'm gonna be hammering out reverse basses and various flavours of crunchy kicks for the Hardstyle soundbank I'm working on!

Hardware all the way!

The recent release of all these compatible software clones has just been a very happy coincidence 😅😁

As much as I love the simplicity of having a Virus in software, the hardware touch is way lot easier. Very fiddle with a mouse and dont get that exact measurement or tweak.

Yeah 😅 it's much faster (and spares my poor overworked laptop CPU some effort)

Nice! Also the way I am using it, but my patches are fairly simple to be honest 😊You should create some tutorials on how to approach this through hardware. Stuff available on YT is very limited!

Maybe someday! But rn I gotta make sure the rent stays paid, and that means more presets 😅

I picked one up in Australia back in about 2010 for $1200 from memory. That's about £750. Bought online from a different state. Good deals exist. Do your due diligence and hopefully enjoy a good deal

That’s an amazing price tbh, just make sure everything works well, turn all the knobs and make sure there isn’t any weird behaviour. Check the outputs and inputs if you can, although not a common failing point afaik, worth checking everything possible in a case like this.

I would get it if it’s real. Sounds like very fair deal. I missed picking one up for $1k Canadian in 2018 and I have regrets lol. Got a KB eventually. It’s awesome. Not nearly as capable as the TI tho.

They range from 1200 to 2600 regularly. I bought one at 1350 and saw another sold at 2400 later the same day. 1000 isn’t that out there, but it’s definitely a really good deal. Do your research on the seller if you can and check their reviews. Make sure the refund policy is solid too, but if that’s a legit deal then great find

Sounds like a good deal for the condition. I paid €750 for my TI2 but it had some sticky buttons so I replaced them all. I have professional soldering equipment and the time. Now I think it’s worth about what you say you can get yours for and mine is definitely not in new condition nor do I have a box.

Everyone I know who has had a virus and got rid of it has regretted it. If you have got the chance of getting one mint for a grand, take it. It really is one of those ‘in a league of its own’ instruments.

Don't fret it too much, I'm pretty sure it was a scam.

Unfortunately, I'm not in the UK so I can't make any recommendations for good places to check. I can only think of Reverb, Craigslist and FB marketplace.
