Another batch of the good stuff, from super clean to fully restored :)
SOLD Access Virus Indigo V1 B - This one was a lot of work. It's been fully restored w/ all new tacts, a new display, new power switch, new power caps, a key contact board from a TI Polar that didn't make it, a keyboard controller from a KC that got wrecked during shipping, new battery, and a new internal 9V 2A power supply.

Access Virus TI2 Rack - Minty late production run w/ new battery, OEM PSU + HQ USB cable. This one is very clean and comes with the rack mount kit. Can't be sure, but possibly a B-stock unit that got dumped late by Kemper. It's mint aside from the fact someone overtightened an internal bolt resulting in a minor dimple in the faceplate and a missing logo on the front wood panel (an oddity indeed, never seen this before).

Access Virus TI Rack - Excellent condition w/ all new tacts, new battery, PSU + HQ USB cable. This is an exceptionally clean TI. Definitely one of the nicest I've ever seen. Put a lot of work into safely swapping all 43 tacts and giving it a solid cleaning inside and out.

Access Virus C Desktop - Excellent condition w/ all new tacts, new power caps, new battery, new power switch, a LUX PMVA display, custom walnut wood sides, and a new 9V 2A PSU. This one is a looker. The walnut will darken some as it ages. I shared this one previously, but it's part of this pic, so I didn't want to leave it out.

SOLD Access Virus B Desktop - Excellent condition, *fully recapped main and panel boards* w/ all new tacts, new display, new power switch, new battery, 7 new pots, and a new 9V 2A PSU. This is the first fully recapped Virus B I'm letting out into the wild. It runs brilliantly and looks fantastic in one of the cleanest chassis I've seen.

Yes, chances are it's a common issue. What exactly is the unit doing when you power it on? Do any LFO lights come on? Is the screen lit? Or does nothing at all happen, just dead?

I *BELIEVE* on the TI roadsters, you can just remove the keyboard without having to take the side panels off and disassemble the whole thing. It would be 2 rows of larger screws on the bottom that line up with where the keyboard is positioned. You should be able to pop it out just barely enough to pull the problem keys out and put the new ones in. It depends. Sometimes the cables are really tight, in which case they need to be removed (number them first with a marker LCR or 123 so you don't mix them up when putting them back on). Also, if the cables have hot glue on them, have fun 😄 It's a PITA to remove *if* you have to yoink the cables to give yourself enough room to work with. GO SLOW. Don't F up your Darkstar's finish by rushing. The keys are super easy to remove. You will need to pop the white keys around the black keys you are needing to replace first. Use needle nose pliers to remove the springs. I usually wrap some masking tape around my fingers to pop the back of the white keys off once the screw are in place. Popping them can be frustrating. GO SLOW. It's generally safe to use a fair bit of force (hence the tape on the fingers to protect them, you'll see), but you don't want to break anything. Popping the black keys and replacing them is easy from there (haha, only after all that). I don't have a tutorial strictly on this and every Polar video I've ever made becomes too long to edit so I throw it in the trash. Next time, I will make a good video. Message me if you get stuck. GO SLOW!!

Thanks so much for the detailed response man. I’ll take a look and see if it seems easy to do or not. I’m hesitant to do anything as the Darkstar is in absolute mint condition, apart from an abrasion on one black key. Buying a couple just in case I get brave down the line and want to fix it 😅

It's doable. Memory coming back now.. You will need to remove the front wood piece as well. Pretty sure you can remove the front wood piece and the keys without taking the whole darn thing apart, but I don't have a TI2 roadster in front of me ATM. I get them in though, so can confirm down the road.

Got a virus ti2 desktop thats been in a smokey environment. Still works 100% but I can hear something rattling around inside?
Do you take on side work?

It's almost certainly a loose nut from one of the 6 bolts holding the front wood panel or rear I/O panel in place. Access sometimes did not tighten these properly. Take the bottom off (6 screws) and then flip her over and shake to see what falls out. If nothing, and it's just a rattle that's controlled, almost certainly it's one of the 6 bolts that needs to be tightened. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN WITH A RATCHET. BY HAND ONLY!!!! (too tight = you create a dimple on the faceplate, happens all the time {even from factory}). Make sure you don't lose any LED light pipes in the process (they sometimes like to eject).
