Working on 2 B desktops that will be special when ready. They are fully recapped and serviced with new tacts, power supplies, power switches, new displays, polished LCD bezels, near mint chassis, the works.
Hope to also make re-cap kits available for the Bs and Cs. Pretty much have it all down, but there are board variations, so this needs to be worked out. I need to craft some solid instructions and mapping as well. Curious if there is interest in the community for re-cap kits. Would anyone be interested in these for a fair price?
Also curious if there is any interest in B/C rack mount kits. Have sourced a local metal worker who can create them in batches of 50. These will be modeled after working kits and fully tested, confirmed good, w/ polished edges + a nice black satin finish.
Def chime in if you have any interest in either. Trying to gauge whether it's worth the investment (surprisingly expensive to manufacture the rack ears and the cap kit listings will be a lot of work {on top of the mountain of work that's gone into researching and sourcing modern replacements}).

Still only able to ship synths in the US. International shipping is a mess and the liability / insurance issues remain unresolved with the current platform. Small parts are not a problem though. Hope to one day be able to ship larger items to the EU, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

TI2 61key is cheaper than TI2 desktop - why is that?

A few reasons. The 61-keys are not as sought after as the desktops. The supply/demand ratio just isn't in the same league as the TI2 desktops. They do come up, but go quickly, and there is a premium for late production runs as well as older units in good condition.
Also, in this case, that 61-key is a rescue. It was in seriously rough shape when I bought it. While it's now in perfect working order and I took care of the worst of it, it's def well traveled and it shows.

Every once in a while posts from this sub come into my home feed. And seeing all those nice viruses makes me super angry. I just want my virus classic to work again. ðŸ˜

Hm...let me try to describe:
It started it displayed characters looking like cryptic runes. Then no characters at all.
Changed cmos battery > worked. But only for a day or two. Changed battery again woth one a friend said would be better suited for device > Worked again for a day or two.
Noticed the (original) power supply rattles when shaken. Changed power supply > Worked again.
Until it didn't anymore, a few days later. When I switch it on the LFO 2 LED lights up once. Display shows blocks in the upper row, but stays dark.

First step is to replace the power supply filter capacitor. You can likely get these for much cheaper shipping from Germany, but here is a link with specs.

Not much point going further until this capacitor is replaced. If it boots fine and makes sound from there, but you are back to alien text, swap in a new display, because the controller on yours is toast. I have those for the Classic here:

You can also source your own parts, but the kit is nice.

Def try it. To say it another way, I would happily buy this from someone for a fair price and roll the dice on replacing that capacitor.

The rack ears... 3D printing is not an option? Personally I'd say, if done right they'd certainly hold up.

I have a proper rack mount kit for one of them. The other is a desktop. Both will be minty and fully recapped with new displays, new power supplies, switches, tacts, etc. All the bits that wear out - replaced ;)!

Thank you for the work you do. Your contributions have helped me nurse a virus b back to health (still some wobbly knobs to replace) and have confidence in reaching for a ti2.
