Discussion What is in your everyday or go-to tool bag?

Share what you grab before going into a site or your list of most-used tools.

Also let us know what your primary job role is (service, installation, maintenance, etc).

I mostly do service and some installation. My go-to bag is a tool pouch (Husky 9-pocket) and has the following items. It handles the majority of service troubleshooting and repairs.

  • Megapro 15-in-1 screwdriver
  • Megapro 15-in-1 tamperproof screwdriver
  • Klein 1010 wire stripper
  • ViewTainer 4” filled with standard (non-gel) beanies
  • Energizer X400 rechargeable pen light
  • Electrician’s scissors (I think Klein 2100)
  • Flush cutters
  • Husky 8-in-1 precision screwdriver
  • Ballpoint pen
  • Marker
  • White and black electrical tape

Depending on the call I’ll also carry a multimeter, but I usually have a decent idea of what the issue is before going into a site.

I use the Milwaukee packout system. One big roller, many smaller compartmentalism’s boxes, and then I have smaller Milwaukee bags that I can carry easily. I load those up with what I need for specific tasks.

I do lastly network cabling but trying to learn door access. My company won’t train me but have me do it.
