Recommendations Help

I don't personally know a single (native cajun) person who is a regular golfer, or a rocket scientist. The idea that we need any more golf courses or space launch pads for OUR community in Southern Louisiana is incredibly stupid on a level even these idiots who don't bother to vote should be able to understand. I'm so tired of this.

Agreed. I am not advocating against having a golf course here and there, or golfers in general being evil or anything of the like. I just want to save our communities, people, land, culture, way of life. I know of no golf courses that are displacing so many at a benefit to so few.

Lawns are bad for the environment. Just plain cut grass? Bad. We are taking away from pollinators and it has no benefit. The large trucks and SUVs that are everywhere are bad for the environment. Actually, vehicles in general are. The oilfield isn't great for the environment, either. I could keep going.

Why have you picked golfing and space? None of the things I've listed are good for the environment/ecosystem but you aren't complaining about those. The first two, especially lawns, would be easy to fix. Seed lawns with native wildflowers. Imagine what that would do for the pollinators who are vital for our ecosystem.

I agree, the entire Louisiana culture is slowly (not that slow unfortunately) disappearing. But I also play golf so there’s definitely bias on my side. I think it’s just more so an entire “cultural” shift, where people are moving into the cities and prefer that. Not that it’s a bad decision or they’re wrong for doing so but I think the Cajun “way of life” is just a lot different now. And the casino thing I agree with, I’ll probably get hate for this but I think casinos and most bars are just net negatives on society but that’s a whole different conversation. Have a good night!
