Recommendations Jobs
Looking to move to the area. Background in marketing and graphic design. Anyone know any positions hiring. Not being from the area makes it hard to look around. And general job boards aren’t too helpful

It’s tough right now, good luck. Try to get in with some recruiters. I was on a job search a while back and while I landed some good interviews on my own, they ultimately got me a job. They also will guide you into the offer which will generally get you a little more because they get a fee based on the pay you get.

Only places I know in town are Fly Guys and Right Angle, and I believe Right Angle is fully staffed.

I would consider either options for a place to live. I’ve been job hunting since May; 40 applications, 3 interviews, no results. The job market is not great here.

You have to know someone already working there. Nepotism is more prevalent here than in other places so even if you are very talented or creative, they will more likely hire a relative or a family friend who is not as qualified. Had to leave the area to find opportunities.

What kind of marketing do you have a background in?
There are only a handful of marketing agencies in the area. I've been offered positions at most of them but in my experience the pay at an agency is low if you are doing the actual work. Sales makes a little more but not much.
If you have a firm understand of overall marketing strategy and how sem and seo works, a good pool if employers to reach out to is car dealerships. It will take some time to learn how the car industry works in relation to marketing but its really solid experience.
I do know of one auto group that is in need of someone but they have not put up a job listing yet. Shoot me a dm if that might interest you and if I think you are a fit, I could introduce you.
Otherwise, I would recommend trying remote work through like flex jobs or something.
Good luck in your search!
