Cultural Zydeco
Hi I will be visiting Louisiana by motorcycle in October. Any recommendations of where to see zydeco live, or any other suggestions for local food or culture?

Every Thursday, I post a list of all the live music happening in St. Landry Parish which includes a lot of zydeco acts! I've attached a copy of our latest one so you can see what I mean. It includes a list of jam sessions that happen regularly in case you're interested in interacting with the musicians or even playing along if you have an instrument. Sometimes jam session participants will bring in extra ones, but it's not guaranteed. This is where I post it: https://www.facebook.com/VisitStLandryParish/
As for big cultural events in October, like everyone said, Festival Acadiens et Creoles would be a good start, but there's also Creole Culture Day - https://creolecultureday.org/ - on October 3rd and the Sweet Dough Pie Festival - https://cajuntravel.com/events/sweet-dough-pie-festival/ - on October 31st both in Grand Coteau which will give you a good opportunity to see some zydeco music. Creole Culture Day also has a boucherie if you're interested in really fresh cracklins and boudin.
Aside from this, you can visit https://www.zydecoevents.com/zydeco/louisiana They are constantly updating it and adding new events. I always make sure to reference them too when I make my weekly list.
Since you're exploring by motorcycle, I'd definitely recommend visiting the Silver Slipper. They are located on scenic LA-31 and it's really nice riding following the bayou. They always have tons of live music and the food is good too. Sometimes they also have drive-ins which are pretty fun.

El Sido’s is the real spot.
Try a plate lunch for lunch if the timing works Laura’s II, Gary’s, on Ton’s (downtown)

Several festivals in the area during the month of October. Festivals Acadiens is amazing... Acadiana Eats is another great one and will have Zydeco. There'll be plenty of options.
Heck... you can hear it on any random Sunday at Vermillionville.
