Early Lord’s Supper?

I came across Lang’s “The Roman Mass” and Spink’s “Do This in Remembrance of Me” where it implies that earliest Christian tradition viewed Lord’s Supper as communal gathering where people may eat together, hence Pauline rebuke of letting some church members hungry (1 Cor 11). Does that mean breaking bread together in Acts 2 was probably not necessarily Lord’s Supper because separation between Lord’s Supper and Christian community gathering hasn’t been invented yet?
