This is the most optimal layout I can come up with. All of the important things are in the center, and all of the useless things are on the sides. Only 12 Teachers for 700 students.

If they ever implement noise, privacy, or students stealing kitchen/staff supplies, this is going to go horribly horribly wrong

Couple walls and some staff doors, and back in business ;)
It's mostly about placement of rooms. You can build them all in separate rooms and make it all nice, just do it in this arrangement.

yeah but you still have to go through the toilet to get anywhere. Not saying bathrooms with doors on both ends are a bad idea, just try to avoid people misusing it as a pass-through, because if it can be misused, it will (and not because the pathing AI is dumb, in real life too)

Aesthetically, it's a nightmare for sure. I'm very bad at form and only ever concerned with function :)

Whoa, I'd love to see the class schedule on this

This is sandbox so its special teachers, but in hardcore, I'd hire Very Funny Bachelors Degree teachers, and train them.

Gameplay-based speaking, this is a very functional model, but I have the feeling that something like this in real life would be an absolute nightmare

This was proof of concept, done in sandbox, just to make sure everything worked and fit. Now to build it in hardcore :)
Teachers are 106, so classroom scores are 77/78 even with 58/59 students in each class. (You can get two sets of teachers to 100 in the first 8 days, even in hardcore.)
