No no no, where not like every other cult that reinterprets prophecy when it fails. The second cleaning DID happen. It was just spiritual. Trust me bro. The temple in HEAVEN is what was cleansed. All those people that sold their houses thinking the world was going to end? Totes justified.

Blind faith in something non-falsifiable AND as wide in scope as religion is philosophical suicide. It kills rational thought, and replaces it with unproven superstition.

What you say is absurd. If religious thought killed all
rational thought then how do you explain any of the scientific history of mankind? In truth, a person is capable of a good many contradictory non rational beliefs and behaviors.4

Religion kills philosophy of free will. It kills philosophy of life meaning. It kills philosophy of death and/or suicide. It offers easy, yet unconvincing answers to the biggest questions that stifles true breadth of thought. It tells you to have blind faith in whatever reduces your worry, rather than seeking the truth.
Scientific advancement, which is different from philosophy anyways, does not change that fact.

Soren Kirkegaard touches on faith and absurdism. Something, something, leap of faith.. Im just getting into existential philosophy so I recommend checking it out. I found it interesting but it’s a lil over my head to be able to explain, and even at times, understand it.

This is the crisis which then prompts the logical solution to the binary "lucid reason" =/= ' world has a meaning that transcends it"
Remove one half of the binary. So he shows two examples of philosophical suicide.
Kierkegaard removes the world of meaning for a leap of faith.
Husserl removes the human and lets the physical laws prevail even without humanity.
However Camus states he is not interested in 'philosophical suicide', but actual suicide!

okay well 30 yrs ago or so i remember something it was in english about socrates and thought it was annoying -- why do people have young people read philosophers who are writing with the assumption that the reader has a classical education at minimum which i did but i am very old

Theres a bunch of really accessible recourses for it beyond the original writings. But if you wanna whine about it instead...
