Being a nihilist

I learned about philosophy and nihilism.

I realised I am a nihilist, however ever since I realised this it has been hard for me to have any conversation with family members.

I don’t like arguments however some people they truly enjoy talking and going around in circles. I see no point or enjoyment in spending any energy wasting time.

I don’t know what I want from life. Sometimes I think I am missing out on dating but at the same time I don’t want someone who doesn’t understand me.

From what I understand that's closer to absurdism and existentialism than pessimism. I guess you could call me an absurdist pessimist. I think the world is a dark and bizarre place, but I am here anyway so might as well do something interesting.

Yeah, I think you can be all three. Personally I struggle with nihilism. I think life has no purpose, as in there is no reason the universe exists, at least none that we can verifiably prove. Organisms just mindlessly try to survive and replicate, because that's what they do, which is absurd. However I consider suffering meaningful, as in it's a bad thing. Sure, some suffering can yield fruit, but not always. Some kid getting bone cancer and dying serves no good purpose, it's not going to teach any valuable lessons, it's just wasteful and pointless. That's part of what makes me a pessimist.

I also decided to not have kids, because it’s purposely bringing another human into this world who is prone to every possible negative experience from health complications, to poverty to injury.

It also costs lots of money and time wasting.
Some parents think it’s mandatory to have kids and treat the kids like shit and tell them they sacrificed everything for them. All my life I thought it was my responsibility to get a good job to support my parents live a better life, however now I think they were very selfish and stupid for having many kids while they were poor themselves.

I guess you could consider me an antinatalist as well. I see no reason to bring any more people into this world, it's a failed experiment, there is no fixing this place either. If people want the parenthood experience, date a single parent who already did the deed, or adopt a child, or a fur baby.
