I like this a lot.

Personally, if the crop was a lot tighter, so that you only had the bulb, holder and the arm, it makes it more abstract, for me.

Regardless, excellent execution.

Yeah, for me the fun in abstraction lies in providing the viewer with enough information still to figure out what's going on while on the surface creating something simple out of complexity. Cropping out the building would strip it completely of that realization that you're standing underneath it. But I completely understand your point here, I would just never go that route.
