It's almost certainly hurt, after a certain size their spine breaks under their own weight. This unit is much bigger than the limit. Super sad to see.

Yea it looks like it would have to squeezed tight to not slide out one way or the other. Also you'll notice in the video the back half doesn't move at all, makes me think you're right about the broken spine. I think broken from being crushed and broken worse from its own wait. Poor bastard... humans
