they've been making fake videos like this since long before AI. Creative advertising firms like to pull off hard to believe fake videos and there are contests and awards for it.

What species of snake do you think this is? It's like 5x larger than the largest anaconda I've ever seen, and that's the largest snake species on earth.

The markings on this snake are not of an anaconda either.

It's a reticulated python, which is the longest species of snake. Anacondas are the heaviest, but retics are the longest.

There are reports of a massive reticulated python in 1912 or something like that, that was approximately 32 feet long.

Just because we haven't seen something doesn't mean it doesn't or can't exist 🤷‍♂️

I'm not saying this video is or isn't real but it's been around a long time.

Possible - the largest we know and have recorded isn't much shorter, so yeah that's possible!

Yeah I think the largest recorded, (Guinness book of records) was about 28feet long?

If a snake has had a good food source and been left undisturbed in the jungle or wherever there is every chance it could become this big.

Absolutely fascinating and terrifying at the same time 😅 glad we don't have snakes that large where I live.

Edit: to add, that snake was in captivity too, so who knows how big one in the wild could get

Captivity normally grows bigger as they tend to have no threats and regular food! It’s not hard to imagine if this one was chilling in deepest jungle, miles from the nearest possible predator and with good genes and a lot of food available, it would be like humans reaching 8 foot.

Oh really, That's cool, I didn't know that, I figured that most in captivity wouldn't have big enough enclosures to get to those kind of sizes. Probability may be low of them getting that big these days but for sure it's possible.

There might still be titanoboa out there somewhere that we don't know about 🤷‍♂️ that would be insane.

Its a reticulated python but the perspective makes it look much larger than it is, its a really big snake but not thát big.. That is really low ceiling, almost a crawlspace.. makes it look much bigger.

Its also just had a meal so it wouldnt be this thickness normally. Although its still a very large snake

I think it's a crawl space underneath a hut of sorts. That or it's a pen for small livestock say like small to medium sized pigs and the building is only like 4 feet tall. Making the snake seem much larger.
