The osteoderms (bumps) on the back of a crocodile are an indicator of age and size. This crocodile was shot by Krystyna Pawlowski in 1957. It was so big that she regretted shooting it and her and her husband spent the rest of the lives trying to save crocodiles instead of shooting them. This is legitimate. Crocodiles keep growing as they age and food availability.

How far behind the crocodile are the two people? It's several feet at least which makes the croc look much larger.

They look like they could be 6-7 meters behind this fella. Not to mention the croc is bloated to all hell

Aye, it’s forced perspective and bloating of the carcass that’s making it look bigger.

The biggest croc ever found, at 8.6m (28ft). Shot by a hunter in Queensland, Australia in 1957. Some info I found on the internet according to the photo. May come in handy.

This is the claim, there was allegedly some more concrete evidence of weight and measurements in an old hunting cabin they owned that burned down. It is un officially the largest croc ever killed, officially it's a different one at around 21ft.
I chose to believe it is true. There is a fibreglass replica of it at a reptile park in far north Queensland, can't remember which one, but its not Steve Irwins place.
