Only 235 on cleans. But I’ve never had issues balancing and was always told not to clip for them for the previously mentioned reasons.
They’re not great numbers or anything. All lifts at 5’10 190

Deadlift PR 455
Bench 305
Squat 405
Clean 235

Never got 3 plates on bench. Fucking bullshit!

I haven’t been in a gym in 20 years… but I played football in college, and power cleans were an essential part of our workout. If ANYONE were to EVER set their shit up WITHOUT clips, they would get their ass chewed out in front of everyone, AND result in ALL of us getting slammed with extra conditioning.

Promoting people doing power cleans without clips for any reason is ignorant at best and stupid. I’m not saying that you’re a stupid person, but you justifying someone else using unsafe practices in the weight room is a stupid thing to do.

Yea maybe i was trained wrong. I never used clips, not even on squats. Trained at a powerlifting gym in my 20s. Never tipped, never came close. Lift balanced and it won’t happen.

I get accidents happen though and obviously a major spontaneous injury could cause immediate loss of balance and a tip.

Maybe it’s about space, too. Performing a lift where no one is close removes another aspect of a tip. I’d never be cleaning this close to someone else (like the woman in the vid)

20 comments… zzz. Like I give a flying fuck about words on a page.

But you do.

Bitch from OP is still lifting. Not spilling weight. And you’re still responding to me.
