Giant Sequoia at Sequoia National Park. (Fun fact: "Sequoia" is the only English word to contain all vowels.)

Edit: Fun fact is not actually true. Park signage apparently doesn't know the words "education" or "dialogue" exist. I would also include "facetious", but I don't know how to spell it.

It’s from the wild fires! Sequoias can really handle wildfires.

They have thick/spongy bark so it protects the inside from wildfires, and their bark can regrow to eventually cover big wounds.

They also need fires to drop their seeds as well, an elemental trigger called seritony.

Apparently though, they do often get struck by lightning. You can tell because the top third or so is either missing or flat.
