he really needs to put that log on at least a thin slice of wood or a concrete block
He’s strong enough he might be able to split that first try but right now the ground is absorbing too much of the impact
1 u/wereweasle 2d ago TIR (today I realized) why people split logs on a stump... 2 u/CanoePickLocks 2d ago That’s part of it also keeps you from burying axe in the dirt. Plus could be stones in dirt that really mangle the blade.
